Review of The Faiths of the Founding Fathers

Last week, I read an interesting review of David Holmes’ The Faiths of the Founding Fathers in the National Catholic Reporter (yes, the Fishwrap for you fellow readers of Fr. Z.): “Religion & the Founding: Holmes’ ‘The Faiths of the Founding Fathers.’” Holmes appears to avoid the Scylla and Charybdis simplifications in interpreting America’s founding elite’s notions about religion.
