Fey on the Greek Protests

I just recently watched segments from the Saturday Night Live show hosted by Betty White—fourteen months after it aired. I am from Cincinnati; it takes us some time to get around to things. As usual, I most enjoyed the Weekend Update segment, especially Tina Fey’s commentary on the Greek crisis:

I love Fey’s line: “I love you, Greeks, but you need to make some changes. Your retirement age is fifty-four. Really? Greek people in America work the register at the diner until they die.”

You have a country where half the country works for the government, and the other half doesn’t pay their taxes to the government. I don’t know why the Greeks thought that it could continue to go on this way without a major crisis.
